Welcome to my LinkedIn profile! I am an Assistant Professor and Researcher at University College Dublin (UCD), School of Computer Science, specializing in the captivating field of Edge Computing. With a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Isfahan (2012) and experience as a visiting Ph.D. student at the Technical University of Delft (2010-2011), I have established myself as a dedicated researcher in distributed systems. My research journey has spanned various distributed systems, encompassing smart cities, smart homes, human activity recognition, and social sensing systems. My primary focus is on Edge Computing, where I explore sustainable computing and service orchestration in distributed systems. I've had the privilege of publishing 20 Journal papers with prestigious publishers, including IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer. I've had the honor of serving as an Assistant Professor at Maynooth University (2022-2023), an occasional lecturer at Trinity College Dublin (2021), and an Assistant Professor at Shahid Beheshti University (2013-2019). Additionally, I had the opportunity to work as a research fellow in the ENABLE research program at CONNECT, Trinity College Dublin (2019-2022). I am deeply enthusiastic about collaborative research and have had the privilege of working with diverse researchers worldwide. As an Assistant Professor, I am motivated to foster multi-disciplinary collaboration in academia and to facilitate joint research between academia and industry. Bridging the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications remains a core goal, as this approach drives innovation and addresses pressing challenges. I am excited about the prospects of academic collaboration and the potential of research to shape a better technological landscape. Together, we can push the boundaries of knowledge and create meaningful impact.
