I was appointed to be a Management Trustee for the NASI Pension and Welfare Funds, which manage over $3B in assets for the benefit of workers in the sprinkler industry. Also serve as a Trustee for 12 other Pension, JATC, Education, Health, Pension and Annuity Funds.

I was recruited by the Red Cross to help develop and execute a strategy for the American National Red Cross's Biomedical Services Division to standardize staffing and operating practices, pay practices, paid time off, and insurance benefits across the entire organization of 200+ locations and 16,000 employees nationwide. This included:- Developed and implemented strategy to negotiate first-ever national contract with 9 of its 11 unions, to supplant nearly 70 local union contracts with highly variable terms. Achieved national tentative agreement in July 2015, ratified in October 2015;- Led the implementation of the terms of the national contract across the Eastern Division of the Red Cross, including nonunion population, to include training, communication and change management;- Assisted with the implementation of standardized premium pay practices across the Eastern Division of the Red Cross, including the reduction of over 10,000 pay codes to less than 100, to include training, communication and change management;- Worked closely with Workday implementation team because Workday is being implemented on the same date that we are standardizing premium pay practices - July 1, 2016.Received an award for these achievements in March 2016 -- the Annual Biomedical Partner of the Year Award.

As the Vice President of Labor Relations, represented the Company in all labor relations areas, set national labor relations policy for the Company in consultation with the CEO and COO, negotiated over 200 CBAs with labor unions and as lead spokesperson for employer associations in several cities, served as co-chairman of the labor committee for the trade show and exposition trade association, litigated cases in arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board, and resolved various issues in conjunction with Human Resources, Benefits, Security and the General Counsel. Freeman is the largest trade show and exhibition General Service Contractor, producing most of the largest trade shows in the US and Canada, and also has a growing share of the hotel and convention related audio visual industries.

As Special Counsel, represented and counseled management in all areas of labor relations and practice under the National Labor Relations Act, including collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice charges, government preemption issues, secondary boycotts, strikes, walk-outs and grievances.Successfully obtained a contract in negotiations despite extensive strike preparations by the union which resulted in wages frozen for the life of the agreement, while eliminating $10M+ in potential overtime liability under the FLSA.Negotiated a collective bargaining agreement which provided for a four dollar an hour increase (35%) in the top rate for employees, and this change saved the company $100,000 over the life of the contract in addition to expanding management rights and avoiding a likely strike.First chair counsel for six arbitrations and trials before the NLRB in the first half of 2010. Negotiated agreements with the Teamsters, ATU, SEIU, UNITE HERE, Steelworkers, Painters and other unions.Advised management on the effects of recent and predicted changes to federal labor relations law.Provided creative and unique solutions to otherwise intractable contract and litigation issues. Advised employers on the resolution of grievances (including grievance avoidance) and how to fully enforce collective bargaining agreements in a unionized environment.
