Entrepreneur and computer scientist. In the past two decades, I have been fortunate to witness and be part of computer vision, and its emergence out of labs to change daily lives. As a research assistant at UNC, I co-developed the first FDA-approved Augmented Reality system for minimally invasive liver surgery. After finishing my Ph.D., I joined Kitware to develop open-source image processing and visualization software that has been used by hundreds of thousands of researchers and engineers all over the world. At the end of 2011, I joined Leap Motion as the first employee and Director of Research to work on the world's first 3D gesture control technology. Within a 2 year period, we released Leap Motion Controller and sold 500K units. In 2015, I cofounded Redrock Biometrics to build PamID--the first palm print biometrics that works on any device that has a camera. Our passion and goals are to develop computer vision technology and products that change daily lives, for the good.
