Upon joining the Navy at 18, I gained invaluable experience that continues to serve me today. The Navy was a great opportunity to see the world, to do something good for my country, and to learn. During the 4 years I was enlisted, I achieved the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer (E4) and held many jobs that equipped me with applicable skills which I utilize in my current position. My proudest moment was receiving the Good Conduct Medal from our ship's CO. After completion of my time in the Navy, I spent a year in Education Sales at General Binding Corporation. I found I was a strong sales leader and could supplement my relationship building skills with the innate abilities I possessed, evidenced by my current positions. I then moved on to the collections department at Volkswagen / Audi Financial. I found the position rewarding, but didn't see an opportunity to advance.I then took a job at Arlington Industries as an Expeditor. I didn't have any experience with purchasing but was hungry to learn. In the past 18 years, I've been promoted up the chain because of my desire to improve processes and to achieve organizational objectives. Currently, I hold three position titles simultaneously (Purchasing/Returns/Technical Support Manager), and dedicate my time to ensuring each department's efficiency and productivity. I approach my work as a problem solver, decision maker and operational streamlining expert.
