About Hudson Arney
I'm a dedicated Computer Science student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date in December 2024. In addition to my full academic schedule, I'm committed to a part-time software engineering internship, where I invest 10 hours a week. Outside of my academic and professional commitments, I also have a strong passion for sports. I am currently a member of the club baseball team at MSOE and a baseball umpire.I first got into technology and computer science during my sophomore year of high school when I joined the First Robotics team. There I gained my first experience programming our robot's vision system. This ignited my passion for the field, setting me toward Computer Science. I had never joined any clubs outside of sports until this point, so this was quite a new challenge for me. I certainly wasn't a prodigy but slowly I began to learn how to code, starting on a Raspberry Pi and coding in Java. Eventually, I wrote code that used our robot's camera, which was connected to the Raspberry Pi, which detected specific shapes (there were two primary types, a circle and a hexagon). This helped our robot distinguish what was a hoop, it would then set up an auto-aim that could calculate your distance away, and shoot a dodgeball into the hoop. That year our robotics team made the playoffs for the first time in our history. Recently, I have decided to further my education by pursuing a Master's degree in Machine Learning. This is a brand-new opportunity allotted by MSOE, and I am very excited to have a chance to be one of the first people to graduate from it in the school's history. I have been accepted into graduate school at MSOE and have started taking graduate classes concurrently with my undergrad requirements. I am on track to graduate with my Masters in the summer of 2025.
