• Redesigned Medical Centers’ IP connectivity to support integration, expansion, and modernizationof the Avaya voice system across 3 major hospitals. Design included providing local survivabilitywithin each of the 3 hospitals in the event of an outage or failure.• As an operational engineer deployed and operated a L3VPN architecture over BGP, MPLS, LDP, and OSPF to deliver a standards-based (RFC 4364) virtualized routing infrastructure across a common layer-2/layer-3 infrastructure utilizing Juniper MX-series routers.• Designed Metro Ethernet redundancy for head end architecture for remote medical clinics to ensure clinic connectivity in event of head end outage using Cisco ASR-series routers. Redesigned and migrated point-to-point MOE-based connectivity to TLS/MOE-based point-to-multipoint design to provide increased redundancy for the remote clinics.• Designed and implemented vrf-lite on Cisco 7600-series routers for high-speed video streaming, private, non-routed networks to support facilities automation, spanning multiple routers and buildings.• Implemented hundreds firewall instances for customer networks and campus NAT functions across multiple vendors’ platforms.• Performed wifi product evaluations and developed wifi architecture for deployment throughout the university and medical centers. Established project in-take and request fulfillment processes across multiple work groups for wifi deployments.• Designed and deployed wifi network architecture with over 2600 wireless access points moving from discrete APs to thin APs across 3 campuses and 3 Medical Centers; reviewed designs and resolved field issues with contractors.• Provided second tier troubleshooting for wired and wireless systems.
