The project aims to optimize the mechanical, thermal, and chemical effect generated by nanobubbles in response to ultrasound insonication (tumor ablation) to amplify liquid biopsy via releasing a better amount of ctDNA into the circulation by testing different coating materials (different types of peptides and polymers that resembles the excellent property of the previous non-biodegradable coating material Pluronic F-127) for hydrophobically-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles. Meeting the need for improved biodegradability, ultrasound responsiveness, dispersibility and circulation in the bloodstream is an open gate for further in vivo studies to determine and utilize the pharmacokinetic and biodistribution property of coated hydrophobically modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles to enhance clinical applications, including improved target immunotherapy, early detection of cancer, and other aspects of cancer theragnostic.
