Manage budgeting, accounting, and financial activities of all functions of the National Criminal Justice Association. Coordinate funding management activities on behalf of the organization, and is responsible for communicating financial and operational results, and provides recommendations for improvement to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, as well as the Senior Management Team in a timely and ongoing basis. As a member of the Senior Management Team, I am intensely involved in strategic planning and organizational development initiatives.

• Oversaw the day-to-day accounting functions within our organization including (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, federal program reimbursement, development revenue and federal expenditures).• Effectively managed a team of four employees• Developed effective strategies to improve the number of days to close month-end from 15 days to 10 days.• Prepared external audit documentation and financial reports for general operations with more than $22M in yearly revenue.• Managed budgets, assets, portfolios, accounts payable and receivable and general financial reporting procedures.• Introduced internal controls to monitor critical areas of financial control and devise inventory corrective actions to address risks or deficiencies.• Worked collaboratively with other Directors and our leadership team to establish, plan and execute goals and objectives

As a Staff Auditor I perform a full range of diversified audit and accounting tasks and assignments under the supervision of different professionals. 1. Must adhere to the Firm’s system of Quality Control.2. Audits client-prepared trial balances, financial statements and schedules using computer software program.3. Identifies and reconciles discrepancies between schedules and financial statements.4. Recalculates depreciation expense as required.5. Performs audit, review or compilation procedures under the supervision of managers, supervisors and/or seniors.6. Under direction of senior, proofs financial statements, audit reports and other documents.7. Performs other accounting and auditing duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel, including those requiring a working knowledge of tax accounting principles.Other “In-Charge” Functions (depending on incumbent’s knowledge and experience):1. May assist in planning and scheduling engagements.2. May assist in more complex phases of an engagement including report writing and tax return preparation.3.
