Self Help Africa is a leading international development NGO, motivated by injustice, by their expertise in small-scale agriculture and family-farm business. As part of their work, they have a Development Education programme to raise awareness in Ireland of international development issues. Development Education promotes an understanding of the links between individuals and communities and the wider world around them. It encourages critical examination of global issues, such as international development and climate change, sustainable agriculture, gender, trade justice and global inequality, and promotes awareness of the impact that individuals can have on these.My role arranging and delivering workshops in secondary schools and adult education classes.

Ireland

SmartEarth.ie work with governments in developing countries, and with civil society, to secure finance, technology and capacity building for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and to identify opportunities in transition to low-carbon climate resilient economies. My role is identifying capacity building needs in the global south, agreeing projects and coordinating delivery of training with our partner the Institute of Public Administration.

Dublin City University

Since its inception just five years ago, DSA Ireland is helping create a vibrant development studies community and is now providing an effective platform to enable researchers, policy-makers and practitioners from across the development community in Ireland to share knowledge and resources. My present contract is to ensure the continued financial sustainability of the Association, which involves generating a promotional video and brochure as well as arranging and coordinating meetings with DSAI's constituents to gather support. A successful campaign has meant continued funding has been assured.
