About Hugh D. Lester, Phdc

I am a designer and planner whose architecture and engineering solutions address complex adaptive systems challenges at all scales. Applying expertise in physical and electronic security, sociotechnical systems, and interdisciplinary engineering, I focus on the human side of secure facilities and infrastructure. My more than a quarter decade of experience includes three of the four largest jails or jail systems in the United States, with total project cost of up to $4.0 B. Even on the largest of projects, my approach reflects the rigor necessary for the smallest county jails -- where I began my career.
