After completing law school at the University of Memphis, Mr. Garrett took and passed the Tennessee Bar Examination and entered the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps. He reported first to Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was subsequently stationed at Naval Station Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida. He served for over three years as Trial Counsel at the Trial Office Southeast Headquarters. As Trial Counsel, Mr. Garrett prosecuted hundreds of cases and was lead prosecutor in both Bench and Jury Trials. Mr Garrett also provided legal advice to dozens of Commanding Officers of Naval Ships. He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in October of 2004.
