CurrentConsultant architect with over 30 years experience as founding director of MurrayOLaoire Architects (MOLA) which was Ireland's largest architectural firm. MOLA was a consistent winner of design awards and had offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Moscow, Bratislava, Aachen, Abu Dhabi, Tripoli and the Bahamas. I led many award winning residential, regeneration, conservation/restoration, educational, healthcare and cultural projects, with a cumulative building cost of hundreds of millions of euro.My strengths are in combining the skills of Masterplanning, Urban Design and Architecture and in leading teams that make projects happen in a creative,enjoyable and effective way . My ambition continues to be having fun doing good architecture while I nurture my belief in MOLA’s original guiding principle that good architecture has a profound effect on the quality of people’s lives.HMA works with a team of carefully selected, trusted, experienced and talented colleagues to provide a high quality, professional, reliable and enjoyable service to clients who appreciate these values. I was design team leader on a 175 bed full-service Marriottt Hotel in Port au Prince, Haiti . It commenced on site in March 2013 and opened for business in February 2015. It won the Best New Hotel 2015-16 in the Caribbean Property Awards . HMA is currently working on hospitality, residential and educational projects in Ireland and internationally , including : client adviser on an Aloft hotel in Dublin and an own brand hotel in Samoa; architect for an infill housing development in Dalkey , Dublin and a refurbishment of 66 apartments in Killarney, and masterplanning/architectural adviser to the National College of Ireland .
