I have a technical/engineering background with particular emphasis on electronics and broadcast technology, specialising in professional audio – both technical and operational – across all levels from introductory to advanced underpinning knowledge and craft skills. Much of my professional time is spent as a technical writer and editor, with over twenty years' experience of both consumer and trade magazine publishing, electronic web publishing, creating product manuals, and writing technical press releases and white papers.I also create and deliver foundation, intermediate and advanced specialist technical training, and have twenty-five years of experience providing successful, carefully-targeted, courses on a wide variety of pro-audio topics to clients including the BBC, RTE, Sky Television, SISLive, and many more national, international, and independent broadcasters, production companies, and related businesses, both in the UK and overseas.I am a member of both the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Institute of Professional Sound (IPS), and have presented many seminars and lectures for both organisations at training events and conferences in the UK and America.
