Founder of XPD. I have experience in trading, commercial, e-commerce and marketing but the development of customer offers and client propositions is really my thing. A specialist in the retail and leisure sectors I have played leading roles in a number of significant turnarounds in the past 30 years. On interim assignments I have tended to operate at board level in both private equity owned and listed businesses. I founded XPD in 2008 with my founding partner and the business has since grown into one of Europe's leading stock liquidation specialists. The development of XPD from a thought into what it is today is my greatest source of professional pride.

Purpose: to turnaround the 200 strong retail chain following years of significant revenue and EBIT erosion. In worsening market conditions, the MFI retail business was placed in administration and an MBO put in place.

Commercial DirectorBrighthouse Stores Jan 2006 - Sep 2007Leavesden Park, Watford, GbMember of a newly formed 4 man executive board put in place by Terra Firma. Purpose was turnaround the underperforming 140 store BrightHouse electrical/furniture chain, and exit within eighteen months. EBIT increased from £11m in 2005/6 to £17m in 2006/7. Enterprise Value of the business increased from £90m to £170m. The sale of Brighthouse to Vision Capital completed in August 2007. -
Commercial DirectorP&O Ferries 2005 - 2006Dover, Kent, GbMember of the Executive Board, charged with delivering the transformation of the under-performing ferries division, specifically integrating three formerly disparate divisions into one new commercial division. The new business achieved a +£30m EBIT turnaround versus the previous year, leading to the sale of the division to Dubai Ports World. -
