Happy, healthy people are key. My passion for people led me into physiotherapy before moving into safety as a result of rehabilitating injuries relating to heavy-industry workplaces. As a physio, I was able to identify how and why an injury occurred, and propose strategies to prevent such injury - however, as a medical provider I did not have the ability make decisions and take the lead in the workplace to enact meaningful change which would ideally prevent future occurrence to both the injured person and other employees. Safety allowed me to combine my skills and knowledge in injury rehabilitation with injury prevention through targeted risk management. This combination allows me to both predict and deconstruct workplace environments to identify, assess, review and monitor physical and psychological change affecting the health, safety and wellbeing employees. All injury has the ability to be prevented - it just requires the right planning, execution and monitoring.I'm an assertive, adaptive professional with reliable and disciplined work ethic. I pride myself on my ability to, identify strategic opportunities for adding value and creating meaningful improvements to the physical and psychological workplace.I'm an energetic safety geek, my observant, methodical nature and ability to build relationships allow me to engage stakeholders and audiences. I love what I do and my measure of success is how effective ideas and strategies are not only executed in the short-term, but embedded into the culture of a team, site, division or organization i.e. where employees are proactively engaged and participative in the safety of themselves and others.My optimistic nature and in both the person and the employee assist me in building meaningful relationships with others and achieving quality results. I enjoy working with people, and am continuously searching for ways to minimise risk and prevent injury, no matter how minor.
