Hugh is head of the Nexia Edwards Marshall's Forensic Accounting Division.Specialist AreasForensic accounting/litigation support services: Hugh has been engaged in a significant number of litigation support assignments including business valuations and assessments of losses for over twenty years. These have included matters of various sizes ranging from losses claimed in excess of $200 million to many other matters where the losses claimed have been less significant.These matters have been in the Federal Court of Australia, the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the Supreme Courts of South Australia and Western Australia and the District Court of South Australia, where his evidence as an accounting expert has also been accepted.Business valuation:Hugh has also been engaged to conduct valuations of enterprises in circumstances other than for the purposes of litigation. These have included unlisted public companies and many small to medium sized businesses. Hugh is a recognised specialist in the provision of business valuation services in matrimonial property matters.Investigations:In the course of forensic accounting and corporate recovery engagements, Hugh has undertaken numerous financial investigations for the purpose of establishing evidence of certain transactions. Hugh’s experience in this field has included major corporate entities where a fraud has been alleged.Auditing:Hugh is a registered company auditor and has been engaged in the audit of many organisations in a range of industries. His experience in this area relates to planning, supervising and carrying out the full range of audit related tasks, including consideration of issues relating to the giving of audit opinions and qualifications.Other specialist areas include due diligence, corporate recovery services, funding controller, business accounting, business ethics and probity auditing.
