I am an experienced business continuity and risk management professional having worked in this discipline for over 26 years, the past 23 as a consultant. I have been a member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) for over 20 years, and successfully completed the Institute of Risk Management’s ‘International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management’ (IRMCert) in 2018.I enjoy assisting organisations in all sectors develop their risk management maturity to improve organisational resilience and assist in insurance purchase decisions. This has included both assessing their current level of maturity, as well as integration with enterprise risk management.My particular skills include building relationships with personnel at all levels within an organisation, from Board Directors down, recognising the appropriate approach to presenting the subject matter at all levels. This has often been achieved through education, awareness and training sessions, as well as the conducting of both simple and complex exercises.As a senior member of a consulting team, I have been responsible for identifying and closing business development opportunities for delivery by myself and colleagues. These have ranged from short-term ‘one-off’ projects to leading a global BCM programme for a FTSE 250 Group for 14 years.
