CurrentUNCHAINED XL Production Co. is a Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) based music post-production house, specialising in high quality commercial music production, scoring, sound design, mixing and mastering, music education and mentoring. Known especially for their unique fusion of hiphop, ethno-music and cinematic sonic elements, UNCHAINED XL has produced audio content for brands such as ESPN, Footlocker and Les Mills, and has worked with artists such as JessB, RAIZA BIZA, Kings, CHAII and Pacific Heights in various capacities. Led by Nigerian NZ multi-disciplinary creative Hugh Ozumba (aka Mazbou Q), UNCHAINED XL plugs a glaring gap in the industry for modern music education. With his specialised approach to the analysis of rap music using rhythm theory, Ozumba gained a considerable following producing effective video content on social media that he has transformed into a 1-on-1 development system for artists of all levels.UNCHAINED XL also specialises in music mentorship for youth, contracting with organisations such as YMCA (RAISE UP) and Shore Junction, as various schools both directly and in conjunction with the NZ Music Commission Mentoring in Schools program. Among the list of schools worked with are Ormiston Senior College, One Tree Hill College, Hobsonville Point Secondary School, Alfriston College, Excellere College and Hereworth School.
