I work in Oracle's North America Commercial Hardware group, primarily on the east coast, providing expertise on the ZFS Storage Appliance and Pillar Axiom storage arrays to customers and prospects. I provide traditional solution discovery to identify critical business issues and conducted Proofs of Concept as needed, develop RFP responses and ROI/TCO analyses in order to achieve technical wins. I was instrumental in securing a key ZFS win valued at over $1.5M at a major New York-based financial customer by creating storage designs to show how the storage will integrate into their environment. I work very closely with the Exadata Engineered Systems team to show how ZFS storage can be used for data migration purposes and as a high performance backup and restore target. I also work with customers to assist them with any support calls they may have. I have also been called in for troubleshooting in design as well as performance related issues.

Provide technical expertise to customers looking for high performance storage solutions that address their compelling business needs. Assist the sales team in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware with quantifying customers business needs, development of proposals and development of quotes that will meet the requirements defined by the customer for hardware, software, services and support. Deliver customer focused presentations upon qualification. I was the global SE for a major New York-based financial customer. Be an organizational focal point for customers when they wanted to have Field Service move components between Axioms or move Axioms between data centers.

Provide support for top opportunities and strategic customers by improving awareness of advanced features for high availability clustering and disaster recovery. Develop and deliver appropriate go-to-market Field (Rep, SE, and partner) training. Develop internal and customer facing webcasts, presentations, and whitepapers. Made a major joint presentation at Symantec Vision on new VCS agent for EMC SRDFstar. Provide customer feedback to Product Management/Engineering team on product roadmaps and technology adoption trends. Worked closely with EMC on their VCS SRDF and SRDFstar agents. Responsible for VCS HA/DR, VCS replication agents, VCS Management Console, VVR and DRAdvisor.

Worked in Consulting providing for-fee assessments of customer environments with respect to data protection, high availability and disaster recovery. The assessment would evaluate the current environment with respect to stated goals and provide recommendations on how to meet those goals. The presentation of the results often highlighted inadequate processes or deficient capabilities in the environment with respect to the customer's stated goals. I provided recommendations on how to overcome them with a comprehensive design.

Worked in the Support organization initially as an on-site engineer at a large pharmaceutical research lab. Provided hardware and software support within the site, as well as management support. Moved to a role supporting the FailSafe high availability product from a pre-sales, design, implementation and post-sales perspectives. Worked very closely with FailSafe Engr in terms of bug fixes and new requirements.
