35 Years after graduation, back at my Alma Mater to provide advice and guidance to students in the business faculty with their final year 'real life' projects.Things have changed! "Back in my day" the degree was just three years of theory and teaching and then you were thrown out 'into the real world'. Today, students are given real-life projects, working for real local companies who want help in a variety of scenarios. Groups of students are allocated a 'Business Consultant' from the 'real world outside', to provide help and guidance to them and progress monitoring on behalf of LJMU.I am absolutely delighted to have been asked to help with this Business Consultant role for the Spring 2023 set of projects. I will be there for the teams, providing guidance and direction to assist them completing their projects, providing a report to the client Company which will hopefully bring real ideas and suggestions for them to help them grow and develop.

Merseyside Youth Support Trust ("MYST") charity that helps young people, realise their dreams and run their own businesses in some of the most deprived areas of the city. Many of these youngsters have entrepreneurial flair, but find it difficult to get the business going.MYST offers advice and guidance to help these young businesspeople of the future and can offer subsidised office space for their first couple of years in business.I was approached back. in the early summer last year to help them overhaul their finance and reporting systems and have, upon seeing the great work they do and plans for the future, have committed to continuing to work with them as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Charity. Pro-Bono work which I am finding very rewarding an meaningful.
