My responsibilities included teaching and module management across the course, recruitment and interviews and social media marketing. I also act as Academic Link Tutor for our franchise provision in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (see below). I lead on the design of a new B Arch course in Architecture for Staffordshire University working with architects.As a small (but busy!) course team of 3, we won two awards with the University for Innovative and Applied Teaching.

I was promoted to PL and Academic Group Leader where I line managed 22 staff within Art & Design. This post involved carrying out annual reviews, dealing with staff issues, finance, discipline and welfare, and taking a strategic view across the department. I was the Course Leader for a number of years for two courses, responsible for their overall management and direction and recruitment. Initially starting with just the Product Course, I designed and developed a Transport Design degree, drawing on 10 years experience as a transport designer in industry.

Part of my role at Staffordshire University is as Academic Link Tutor to three courses at APU/APIIT based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From the validation in 2015 I advised on curriculum, teaching spaces and facilities. I monitor the delivery and quality of BA Product Design, BA Transport Design and BA Advertising & Brand Management, all of which are franchised to our partner. As External Examiner for the BDes Product Design course at Edinburgh Napier I provide oversight to help ensure parity with other UK Product design courses. This involves bi-annual visits to the Course to talk with staff and students in order to review course design, student work and presentations.
