MindTrace is a Pittsburgh, PA-based company established in 2020 as a spin-off from Carnegie Mellon University for the purpose of commercializing innovations to predict how neurosurgical interventions will affect patients’ minds.We are developing a novel, patent-pending brain map software device that utilizes Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to integrate multiple sources of information to enable clinicians to more effectively plan neurosurgery in support of the best post-operative quality-of-life.Put simply, patients want to be confident they will be the same person coming out of brain surgery as they were going into surgery—and surgeons want tools that support quantitative pre-operative surgical planning and evidence-based projections of post-operative function.MindTrace is allowing clinical teams to iterate on their surgical plan by exploring different paths of approach to a lesion, and the consequences of being more or less aggressive with the resections at the margin between lesion and healthy brain tissue.I wear the CTO hat which allows me to provide the technical and technological vision in sync with the business and the scientific views.

Software Engineer at CAOsLab within the Psychology Department. Focused on providing software solutions to understand impact on: cognitive impairment situations. The laboratory also uses behavioral and neuroimaging techniques to study the quantitative reasoning in children and non-human-primates.• Design, development, test and deployment of software solutions to support research data collection and analysis.• Work closely with research teams to develop new software solutions aligned with the goals of the laboratory. This includes the opportunity to gain cross functional experience across multiple domains.• Assist in the assessment of new technical profiles for the laboratory by generating challenges that simulate a close-to-reality working situations.• Provide recommendations on systems solutions, risks associated, cost/benefit analysis based on the research goals.• Manage IT infrastructure for the laboratory, which includes: physical and virtual servers, networking and storage systems.• Ensure alignment between security standards from Carnegie Mellon University and overall research strategies.
