Dr. Rojas main field of experience has been in the structural design of new water and waste water treatment facilities. He has also been involved in the assessment and design of modifications of existing structures. His responsibilities have included the structural analysis and design of concrete, masonry, and steel structures, the development of construction drawings and specifications as well as the support during construction including the Structural Resident Engineer. His experience prior to CH2M HILL includes the development of an automated computational method to implement probabilistic performance-based design for the design of steel moment frames. In accordance with the next-generation of performance-based design, his research included the implementation of time-based seismic hazard assessments and HAZUS (HAZards United States) earthquake loss estimation procedures to evaluate structural performance.
