I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, went to college in Boston, took on a study abroad program in London, set my career in motion in São Paulo, got married in Amsterdam, and now am gearing up for a new life cycle in Madrid!My wife and I have been planning this for long, so now I'm thrilled that we're finally on the move: Mariana landed an amazing job and should start working in-person by early November. Thankfully, her highly qualified worker visa does endow me with a partner visa to help access the Spanish job market. I still ought to polish my Spanish speaking skills in the coming months, but can already understand just about anything -- thanks to many hours listening to the El Pais podcast, and having Portuguese as a very welcome head start. Communication skills have historically been my thing, and I can tell that I will enjoy the process. I have had a 7-year career in Brazil amidst the real estate sector and the financial market: I worked ahead of the investor relations team for the top homebuilder in São Paulo (Eztec), and later analyzing real estate stocks for two major investment banks (Bradesco and Citi). I boast being able to think both like a business executive and an equity investor, while still nurturing the broader intellectual curiosity of a social scientist.Since I left Brazil for Europe, I have been working remote as a freelance investor relations consultant, helping listed companies grasp the inner workings of the investment community, and advising on how to spin their message to the market.
