I am a passionate alpine ski racer devoted to life on the slopes. Ever since I first clicked into my skis at the age of 5, I have fallen in love with the thrill of the sheer speed and beautiful sceneries of skiing that are like no other sport. In 2014, I began actively pursuing my alpine ski racing career. Today, I am a seasoned ski racer with over 8 years of racing experience including a 1-year tenure in the U14 Korean National Alpine Ski Team and 2-year tenure in the U16 Korean National Alpine Ski Team.Over my 8-year racing career, I have enjoyed numerous successes. In the 2018 Canada Whistler Cup, I placed 14th out of 155 national ski team competitors in the slalom race, 17th out of 155 competitors in the parallel slalom race, and 34th out of 155 competitors in the Giant Slalom race. In 2018, I shined once again on the international stage, winning gold in the New Zealand Junior Interfield Giant Slalom Race. I enjoyed much success in Korea as well, winning silver in the 2019 Korea Ski Association President Cup Super G race and bronze in the slalom race of the 2022 U19 Korean National Ski Race. Currently, my FIS slalom points stand at 106.21 points and I have 8 podium finishes in total throughout my high school skiing career.After almost a decade of rigorous ski racing, I can confidently say that there is no skier faster than me in Korea except my 20 ski racer rivals. The success has not come without a price, however. Over the 8 years of ski racing, I have learned to embrace the grind of countless training sessions on the freezing slopes and hours of athletic conditioning over the offseason. After grinding my way to the podium, the values I most cherish are winning, persistence, grit, and resilience.Of course, there are also some quirks that help me get to the podium. Before every race, I always make sure I eat a banana and when I am nervous I tend to take a few baseball swings in the air to relieve my anxiety.My goal is to introduce as many people to the sport of skiing or help elevate their skiing to the next level so that they can maximize their enjoyment of this wonderful sport. To do this, I have founded the Beyond Ski Club, a charity club that provides free one-on-one ski lessons for those without access to skiing such as foster home kids. As a Level 1 qualified ski instructor, I am also eager to help out anyone who wishes to up their game on the slopes. Happy skiing!
