The BIW Production Engineering department provide engineering & technical support to BIW Production. The CME team provide engineering input to improve production performance in key areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, people & the environment.The team also interface with other departments both at Castle Bromwich and other JLR plants to ensure their production expertise is utilised in the development of new models.Primary Key Responsibilities:• Manage team of Engineers across all disciplines of car manufacture• Create departmental strategies in order to achieve our Corporate objectives• Create department objectives and manage/develop CME team to deliver objectives• Lead multiple projects at Senior Level visibility and report out on a weekly basis against plan• Create processes thus traceability of Engineering trials to conform to industry standards• Develop and maintain control plans to ensure all process areas remain effective• Ensure monthly GSPAS Process Audits are compliant• Ensure the correct Production priorities are supported to maintain volume and quality targets• Manage supplier improvement for all engineering related supplier issues• To ensure regular review of all relevant PFMEA's• To ensure flawless introduction of engineering changes via fit & function as required• Problem Solving Champion using tools such as 8D, 3C, Is/Is Not, DMAIC• Improve the dimensional capability of all BIW production assemblies

- Determine, through best practice, the most effective way of optimizing both people and facilities and deliver quality products and decide manpower plan forecasts alongside operational budgets;- Working with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering function and Facilities to ensure that the most efficient product and process are developed and delivered;- Establish, measure and evaluate specific performance objectives related to plan operations such as on time delivery labor efficiency, scrap rates, productivity, safety and quality;- Implement world class manufacturing practices including JLR's Lean Manufacturing, Quality and H&S processes.- Measure and improve productivity targets- Engage work groups and build effective relationships to lead and support Kaizen projects and solving problems

- Implementing Lean Manufacturing tool and metodologies in order to improve the OEE- Implementing and monitoring key lean indicators - Process Control Management

- Supervising a shift with 11 die casting machines and 9 people, ensuring that the production plan is achieved and the objectives are reached - Ensuring production safety, by enforcing and looking to improve OHS procedures and policy - Managing and produce within the quality control policy and procedures, ensuring consistent and highest production quality - Participating in multidisplinary teams to promote continous improvement event

- Training people (supervisors and managers) in lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools.

- Managing resources (human, material and equipment) in order to fulfill the production plan (24 workers, 3 shifts) - Implementing and monitoring key lean indicators- Developing and implementing continuous improvement processes, integrated in a project team with external consultants

- Production planning (18 workers, 3 shifts) - Managing daily operations at the shop floor - Implementing the PHC information system - Manufactor (manufacturing software) - Researching and developing new raw materials and manufacturing processes- 3D modeling of new products

- Developing, implementing and maintaining of an information system in order to reduce the materials shortages at the production line -Inventory management - Developing projects for the optimization of the Internal Supply Chain - Supporting daily operations in the warehouse
