Hugo is a Chartered civil engineer with an established career in engineering and construction. Throughout his career Hugo held senior positions in contractors and consultants in Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia, where he led teams and successfully delivered multi-disciplinary projects from inception and planning, construction to final handover and post contract management, including high-profile projects (over 1 billion USD).Skilled in diverse procurement types, familiar with the requirements of several international funding authorities and international forms of construction contract. His proactive rather than reactive attitude uncovers risks before they turn into issues.Hugo approaches dispute mitigation and resolution with in-depth technical knowledge of construction methodologies and of the parties' contractual obligations and risks. He has acted as party representative and claims expert (preparation or defence from claims, contractual, quantum and delay analysis). He has provided independent expert determinations, as well as acting as a mediator/conciliator, party representative and expert witness in arbitration and Dispute Board proceedings.
