Hugo is an economist with extensive professional experience in the private and public sectors. He has served as a transfer pricing and international tax consultant for multinational professional services firms in Peru such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), BDO and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (Deloitte), developing and leading projects for local and foreign companies in a diverse range of industries as mining, oil and gas, utilities, financial services, engineering and construction, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, technology, consumer & industrial products, as well as accounting and legal services.Also, Hugo has served as board member of Empresa Nacional de Puertos S.A. (ENAPU) representing the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru (MEF) and as General Management advisor at Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo S.A. (COFIDE). Previously, he served as financial and private pensions markets as well as international taxation matters advisor in the Vice-Ministerial Office of Economy at MEF. At the beginning of his career, he worked as an analyst in the Peruvian Tax Administration (SUNAT). Currently, Hugo is Project Lead Partner at EconTax Consulting SAC, a financial and economic consulting services boutique firm in Peru, which he founded in 2019. He holds a Bachelor in Social Science with major in Economics' degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and a Master of Science in Finance's degree from Universidad ESAN (ESAN) both in Lima, Peru, as well as a Diploma in International Tax Law from Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hugo also have attended a transfer pricing program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Buenos Aires, Argentina) as well as English and marketing courses at the University of California, Berkeley (California, United States of America).
