I oversee our editorial team to commission new articles for our blog and monthly newsletter as well as a network of freelancers. We champion high editorial standards producing tailored content that is relevant and valuable to our audience. After working in both agency and start up environments that were client and product orientated I wanted to add content and online publishing to my portfolio. I led a new attack on viral media with a team of writers under my direction. We competed with sites such as Buzzfeed to create or discover the next online sensation which I promoted via Facebook to targeted audiences with great success. One of our biggest stories made the front page of Reddit resulting in 250k pageviews and our biggest single day of traffic in the year. Another story we created went viral, with 18k shares of the page, 2.3k shares of the post, and 190k pageviews overnight.I produced a complete dashboard each day covering editorial and social as well as our traffic targets in relation to an advertising deal with our biggest stakeholder.I managed promotions and competitions with international agencies looking to promote new releases such as Sony Music and Universal.I took charge of our daily newsletter with over 60,000 subscribers for which I developed new templates and content.I represented Giant Digital at key networking events such as SW4 and the 2014 iTunes festival with David Guetta. I also attended the world premier of Doctor Who in Cardiff and celebrity house parties with Professor Green & Pixie Lott.After 6 months at Giant Digital i was headhunted by Simply Business.

Sticky9 sold Instagram magnets and accessories loved the world over. We were a team of 6 based in Southwark working within a startup incubator. Sticky9 was purchased by Photobox, a pan European photo printing service who also own Moonpig and a sister brand called PaperShaker within the incubator where i worked.I joined because of my passion for community and my scientific understanding of social. I loved to auteur and curate winning content, engage with fans, drive acquisition and report on social metrics. Social was the heart and soul of Sticky9 with over 200 thousand fans across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest. We enjoyed a superb online reputation, sharing photos and customer creations on our blog whilst speaking to our community first, on all new products and ideas.I presented a hybrid of skills, from content creation and community management through to data and campaign analysis. In our small team I lent myself to a number of roles including paid social, blogger outreach and social analytics. I produced a weekly custom social dashboard that was sent to the highest echelons of our group and I worked closely with our community manager for best practice throughout.Sticky9 was eventually merged into the Moonpig range of products.I left Photobox to join an exciting role in celebrity news at Giant Digital.

I provided social media management for 12 clients in the hospitality sector in and around Cambridge for digital marketing agency Localsecrets. We offered advertising, inclusion in our magazine and full service properties on our site or through events. I worked with the marketing department and magazine writers to service clients with deliverables. My portfolio included Michelin starred restaurants, business coaches, the region’s largest household cleaning company and award winning pubs & eateries. I spearheaded a new social media package alongside the traditional options of a full service digital agency, magazine and website. I performed new setups and refurbishment of social accounts and then operated them in partnership with the owners and key contacts. I reported each month for ROI and awareness and was in regular correspondence for promotions and new openings in a 24/7 client facing role.My KPIs were the renewal of the contracts for the agency and redemption of social only offer codes that could be used at the venues. This way I was able to prove the effectiveness of my management and the responsiveness of the communities I had grown.As the number of accounts grew I took on an apprentice to assist me with the operation of the accounts. I trained him in all aspects of administration at the agency and the scheduling of posts across the portfolio as well as duties updating the site. In his time with me he completed his apprenticeship and was then made assistant to me at the agency.In extra duties with my technical director, we delivered social media seminars at business centres across the region - to empower business owners with new ways to generate leads via social. The presentation provided aftercare and onsite tuition to ensure satisfaction and education from the program. I applied for a fantastic role in London and moved to the city to further my career.

Placement gaining valuable skills and experience whilst completing a work based apprenticeship. We hosted the “Society of Editors” annual conference where editors from the top national newspapers, MP’s and lawyers meet to discuss ethics within the industry. At the time, the Leveson inquiry was underway and so much of the conversation centred around the “News of the World” and phone hacking scandal. I established and managed social platforms for the SOE as a hub of live discussion over the three days, tweeting from the event and delivering content written by journalists.
