I have been working in the field of hospitality and community building since 2010. I love being in the act of service, and often connect with people to activate new possibilities. Through my experiences in the Jurong Bird Park and Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), it had grown my love for people, and eventually Singapore. My past and present identities include being a forest school coach, an occasional hawker assistant to my parents who sell wanton noodles, befriender at Tak Takut Kids Club @ Boon Lay, as well as a volunteer at SG Climate Rally. This season, I work in Common Ground, a cultural-change consultancy that leads a civic centre at Bedok which grows a collaborative environment for people & organisations to explore possibilities of working on social challenges together - regardless of whether you come from the people, public or private sector. Through this civic centre, in partnership with the Ministry of Community, Culture and Youth (MCCY), we want to convene and capacity-build more citizens to become more aware of different issues in the community; empathise with where different people are coming from; and build trust and connection with each other so that we can work on solutions together.I believe that finding meaning is a conscious effort, and no effort is ever wasted.
