With more than nine years of work experience in non-profit and government sector, I have triple Master’s Degree in Social Work, International Politics and International Studies. A Chevening scholar and International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) alumni – I am deeply committed to aiding women survivors of violence in a misogynist social milieu. I have extensive experience in combating gender-based violence, human trafficking, research and community outreach.At my current organization, Delhi Commission for Women, I have led a 30-member team that managed the DCW’s flagship “181 Women’s Helpline” program for women in distress. According to DCW data, the 181 toll-free helpline received more than 2,15,000 calls since 2016. Under my direction, the team fielded calls on sexual abuse, domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse. As a part of my profile, I have managed media releases, conferences, drafting of policies and annual reports. I have my expertise in human trafficking and have also headed the Anti Human Trafficking and Cyber Crime Cell at the Commission. I am a part of the Expert Committee constituted by the Delhi Commission for Women on Rehabilitation of victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. I have rescued girls and women from remote areas. I am also part of a DCW team that conducts surprise audits and inspections of government-run women’s shelters and homes for the elderly.
