Second big project as a Rails Software Developer was a web application to monitor complex output of a Derivative Pricer/Manager system built in Matlab. Design dozens of views for desktop and mobile, cronjob tasks, backgound jobs (Sidekiq, Redis) , json api with several endpoints were the challenge. Later, user authentication and authorization was determinant for the success of this webapp that is now available for all bank employees involved in derivatives business.Building an investment consultancy from scratch is another project where I play the role of project manager, product owner and developer. Rewriting an excel monte carlo pricing model into Matlab code was my first approach to a fast production environment and It was the flowering of a self taught software developer. This same code as been completely rewrite and improved 2 times with the help of 2 team mates that, one at a time, could feed the source code with more ideas and approaches that leave any developer proud to be part of it. At the moment is properly done with an Objected Oriented guidance.During this period we also could build web based applications, one for managing, reporting and booking structured products, and another to produce investment proposals for Client Portfolio Managers. Where is possible to build weighted portfolios with Deposits, Funds, Etf, Bonds, Structured Products and/or Discretionary Mandates and produce an appealing pdf presentation to the final client giving him an aggregated vision by currency, asset class and geographic risks. Develop and implementation of pricing and managing tools with Excel and VBA, to build plain vanilla structures for clients that need financing or some debt structuring. As part of proprietary trading desk I was responsible for the forex book on major currencies and the market making of Single stocks futures for Portuguese names along with PSI20 Index futures, were I improve the trading strategies and trading systems architecture. Later I developed the warrants trading desk for the domestic single stocks issued by Santander. The models for pricing, managing and send orders to markets are injected by an Excel on steroids to Sifox and Nemo trading platforms.

I was the first guy joining in the FX proprietary trading desk after EURO replaced all former currencies and teams were reduced to minimal personnel. It was challenging and I had the opportunity to, once more, improve tasks and risk management. I implemented modern electronic platforms single contributed by Deutsch Bank and UBS, and multi contributed like FXAll, allowing to trade smaller amounts and all kind of crosses. After a some months I was able to develop my first trading algorithm strategy based on close prices, RSI and MACD across all forex crosses with quite interesting results.
