Stanford NLP Group(Prof. Christopher Manning and John Bauer)• Designing a Transformer-based model for joint coreference resolution and summarization task with a coreference resolution attention mechanics.• Building a joint coreference resolution and summarization dataset for Vietnamese to combine the task of summarization with the task of coreference resolution.• Built a shift-reduce constituency parser with partitioned-attention, label-attention, and a dynamic oracle, improving the F1 score for the in-order shift-reduce parser from 94.2 to 95.9 for English and from 71.0 to 82.87 for Vietnamese.• Integrating language-specific BERT and multilingual BERT into natural language processing tools for Stanza – Stanford NLP Group’s official Python NLP library, a library that supports over 60 languages.

Stanford Open Virtual Assistant Lab California, USA(Prof. Monica Lam, Prof. James Landay, and Jackie Yang)• Designing a framework to support long-term memory and persona-consistent responses for virtual assistants, a part of the research for Stanford Genie Assistant.• Working on ReactGenie: A Toolkit for Multimodal Applications, a toolkit that supports the development of multimodal applications that can handle both GUI and Voice interactions.• Built an Adaptive Multimodal Assistant with an Adaptive Policy Generator, wrote a paper on the research, and submitted the paper to ACM CHI.• Built a task-focused, multimodal, mixed-initiative virtual (cooking) assistant using Genie, Thingpedia, and Stanford’s open-source language ThingTalk that can adapt itself to any of the users’ wishes.• Proposed and designed a novel architecture using task-focused, multimodal virtual assistant apps to structure the different steps in a recipe in multiple ways to achieve a task as a dependency graph.• Extended the design to different domains beyond cooking that utilize stepwise tutorial such as navigation assistant or DIY assistant.

Designed and implemented an intelligent chatbot to automate question-answering within the organization for its employees and students.Co-ordinated with the IT team to ensure chatbot integration into the company's internal support system.
