Connect Team* Lead a team of 8 responsible for the development and performance of 50+ data connectors and 20M+ queries / day. Set out a vision for 10x the number of connectors supported. * Lead the effort to reduce query latency caused by performance regressions. Identified and partnered with sibling team to fix the issues, which resulted in 80% performance improvement. Wrote performance investigation guide for the team to educate the team of the investigation process.* Established a quality bar for the connectors, which was crucial in prioritizing the right connectors to focus the team's energy.* Mentored other engineers in the team through code pairing and career progression conversations. Support them in shipping multiple impactful projects such as Retool AI, Retool RPC and Retool File Storage.

Model Infra team* Delivered multiple outsized performance improvements (10-100x) for the document formula system, by optimizing the formula execution engine, the dependency graph representation as well as improving calculation caching.* Redesign the handling of timezone and time calculation, which fixed multiple difficult, time-dependent bugs. Wrote the first technical blog post for Coda on this topic.

Along* Led a team of 10 to build Along, an award winning education tool to foster the connections between teachers and students. I was part of the original team building the app from scratch, and responsible for many core functionalities such as the video recording and feed functionalities.* Led the team to design and build a robust deletion system & data anonymization for our system, including the web platform and the data warehouse to comply with strict deletion requirements for Educational tools. Collaborated with lawyers, data engineers, PM etc. to launch in a 3-month timeline.Summit Platform Learning* Created sorbet-rails, a de-facto open sourced tool to integrate the Sorbet static type-checking tool to catch runtime errors in Rails codebase automatically. Drove the adoption of it in the community, including companies like Grailed, Flexport and Gusto, and had 500+ stars, 20+ contributors on Github. Delivered a tech talk on RailsConf 2020 about the tool.* Developed a scalable SMS system to communicate with Parents that are able to send 1000+ personalized SMS/ days. * Developed a robust data pipeline to ingest and process large external data (100-500 MB+, custom schema) to process students' standardized test data.* Mentored 5+ L3-L4 engineers in technical & collaboration skills, and navigate career advancement.* Initiated the organization's shout-outs ritual, which was well received and fostered an appreciation atmosphere in the team.Technology: Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, React, Typescript
