Hung-Shin Lee (李鴻欣) is a Ph.D. of Electrical Engineering (National Taiwan University), and working in Institute of Information Science (Academia Sinica) as an assistant for the research of speech and language processing. His advisors are Dr. Shyh-Kang Jeng (National Taiwan University) and Dr. Hsin-Min Wang (Academia Sinica). His research focuses on how to represent an audio segment or speech utterance as a compact but informative token and how to design a simple but effective algorithm for classification with such tokens. Several relevant papers with applications on automatic speaker/language verification as well as speaker diarization have been published. He built up several Mandarin- and Taiwanese-based LVCSR systems for some industries and a government office (MJIB, 法務部調查局). Some practical papers related to robust speech recognition, acoustic modeling, ans speech separation have been published.He is also a Christian and now meeting in Hsin-Yi Friendship Presbyterian Church, Taipei, Taiwan. Besides Jesus Christ his Lord, he is interested in music, philosophy, and mathematics. His goal of life is not to glorify himself, but to immerse in the real experience of Christ, love others, and please God throughout his research life.His favorite verse in the Bible is :"For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you." (2 Corinthians 1:12)
