This position required initiative and sound judgment in… Show more As the Senior Public Health Services Manager, I played a critical role in partnering with senior leadership in strategic decision making and operations to enhance continual quality improvement to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of the local county health departments. This was a management position involving planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities of the administrative section of DOH-Calhoun/Liberty. This position required initiative and sound judgment in general business and accounting activities and the ability to maintain effective relationships with local government boards, state/community agencies, medical facilities, and other health department staff. In this position, I supervised direct report employees by motivating, training, providing guidance and direction. I was responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning, and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. This position prepared financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicated monthly and annual financial statements; completed financial reporting materials for all program areas and overseen all projects, programs, and grants accounting for two (2) county health departments. I assure agency compliance with all applicable Federal and State policies, coordinate and lead the internal audit process, liaise with all Florida Department of Health auditors, assess, and implement any changes necessary. I worked with appropriate staff to maximize all revenues projected and allocated to DOH-Calhoun/Liberty to construct and implement an annual budget to meet the needs of the agency and maintain sufficient cash to meet obligations. Provided the DOH-Calhoun/Liberty Management Team with cost reports for various programs and advises for necessary action to improve efficiency and minimize expenditures. Show less

I was responsible for writing and maintaining all-hazard emergency response plans, completing CHD Preparedness Expectations, providing technical guidance and support in completion of Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) applications, conducting, and facilitating staff trainings and/or exercises, and coordinating with local emergency management staff to define roles and responsibilities for staff during public health emergency response operations. In this role, I also served as the Safety Officer for DOH – Gulf by hosting quarterly meetings with administration team members, conducting fire drills alongside the facilities manager, and completing building inspections in compliance with state safety standards. Other tasks may be performing related duties as requested by the CHD Administrator, Region 1 and/or 2 Health and Medical Co-Chairs, working during and beyond normal work hours in the event of a response, and serving on the local County Health Department Leadership/Administration team to aid in day-to-day operations.
