About Hunter Engel
I began my college career at FGCU at the age of 16 and I will be graduating with a B.A. in Sociology — as well as two minors in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies — in May of 2020. I plan on going to graduate school. I am an aspiring educator with a passion for helping people broaden their horizons, learn to think critically, and achieve their goals. Growing up and receiving the inspirational lessons from the teachers in my life has instilled within me a desire to give back to future generations. I want to be able to shed light on the important social, political, and philosophical intricacies of our world to students so that they may be able to grow within their own lives and shed the light of knowledge onto others. I have already done work to enhance my own ability to be a mentor and educator with various experiences while in college such as being a Course Assistant for Foundations of Civic Engagement, and being an ACE Mentor. These experiences have made me an exceptional problem solver, a motivated collaborator, and an effective communicator.
