Civil Engineering Intern
I worked for Seattle Public Utility as a student civil engineering intern in the Project Delivery and Engineering Branch (PDEB) working on Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). As an intern, I had cross-exposure opportunities through all four unique sections of the CIP group, which handled projects such as: sewer lining, spot sewer repair, natural drainage systems (NDS), and water utilities. Responsibilities for this internship included responding to data requests by compiling, organizing, and analyzing/verifying data and conducting literature reviews to improve data and mapping accuracy. In addition, I was responsible for engineering research, investigation, design, and cost estimating with adherence to City of Seattle’s Design Standards and Guidelines. Ultimately, as a student engineering intern, I assisted in the constructibility review and engineering design of projects.
