Organizes and conducts research into synthetic strategies, novel properties, and device integration of low-toxicity alternative materials for semiconductor nanocrystals. In one specific project, he works with Sharp Corporation on developing CuInSeS quantum dots for sensitized solar cell applications. This work is conducted as part of the Physical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy Team in the Chemistry Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Involves organizing a two-day tutorial workshop summer of 2013 that brought in invited speakers from around the country; organizing a monthly teleconference seminar; facilitating the annual publication prize competition; and other activities coordinated with graduate students and postdocs in the EFRC.

Specialize in synthesis, characterization and device incorporation of type II nanocrystal heterostructures. Extensive experience with colloidal synthesis of nanocrystals and their characterization with absorption, photoluminesence, XRD, XPS, UPS, TEM and STEM. Experience with thin photovoltaic fabrication and characterization via JV measurement under simulated sunlight as well as EQE measurement.

This was a paid position that involved weekly discussion sections, exam proctoring, and grading for two upper-level courses (not simultaneously) in the Materials Science and Engineering Department. The two courses were titled Thermodynamics of Materials and Materials for Nanotechnology.

Organized and led group tutorial sessions (replaced TA services) for specific classes ~10hrs/week. Available for drop in tutoring ~10hrs/week. One-on-on tutoring of athletes.
