I am Hunter McSweeney and currently a junior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I currently have a 3.71 GPA. I am a member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) at UCF where I participate in engineering workshops such as soldering, weldings, 3D modeling. I am also currently being inducted this spring semester into NSLS (The National Society of Leadership and Success). I have a love for the outdoors, which is why I am also a part of the UCF Reel Knights and UCF Bass Fishing Team. I am the Director of Conservation for the UCF Reel Knights where I work with conservation organizations such as CCA Florida (The Coastal Conservation Association of Florida) and MANG. I also sit on the CCA Knights Chapter board. The outdoors is also one of the reasons I've become fascinated with mechanics, machines, and engineering. I remember when I was young, the use of the pedals on a bicycle intrigued me because I couldn't understand how they worked at first. Then I learned by using my dad's bike, that the different gear sizes dictate how fast I could go. Many experiences such as this one have made my mind grow an engineering perspective of just about everything I come across. There are products I buy that I believe I can build better. This is where my life goal was formed. I want to invent, innovate, or redesign something in my life. This something may not be defined right now, however I am searching for what it can be.
