Cross-Connection Specialist
CurrentMy job is to examine the plumbing systems in every building in the City of Norfolk whether it is federal,state, local government or privately owned to ensure that no cross contamination between domestic water and any other solution or source can or will cause a cross-connection that could render the city's water supply to be harmful and dangerous for human consumption.That requires physical inspection of the plumbing systems in every building to ensure that no cross-connections exist in violation of code requirements; also to inform,instruct,teach and educate the public concerning cross-connection policy and practices.In some instances to inform,warn and prosecute for non-compliance of the City of Norfolks policy governing the cross-connection ordinance --------- (Chapter 11.1 ** Article VII) and Virginia Department of Health 12 VAC 5-590 Waterworks Regulation Article 3.
