Contracted via 1099 with the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) to assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of AmeriCorps members for the AdviseMI and College Completion Corps Programs during the absence of the Strategy Assistant for Recruitment and Alumni Engagement. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of MCAN, daily responsibilities include utilizing various hiring platforms and strategies to identify suitable candidates, as well as facilitating the submission of applications to the official ADP platform. The role involves conducting screening calls and first-round interviews to ensure candidates’ goals align with the programs and that they meet federal regulations. Additionally, coordination is required between tentative candidates, site supervisors, and the MCAN partnership manager for second-round interviews, as well as collaboration with the AmeriCorps director and other departments as needed. Responsibilities also include collecting necessary paperwork from candidates—such as references, transcripts, and resumes—and maintaining updated and organized personal files throughout the hiring process. The position may involve occasional travel for professional development opportunities and recruitment events, including college fairs, while fostering collaboration among multiple stakeholders, including sites, candidates, and MCAN staff.

Temporary position at Mott Community College in the Registration and Enrollment Center. Responsibilities include presenting at college orientation sessions, processing course registrations and drops according to deadlines, completing tuition offsets for students, and sorting collections files. The role also involves helping students navigate college systems to obtain necessary permissions for registration and self-registration/drops, troubleshooting registration errors, and referring students to the appropriate departments as needed. Strong communication with college staff and faculty, along with experience using Starfish and Datatel systems.

Contracted through Americorps and Michigan College Access Network to serve on the Mott Community College Campus as a College Completion Coach to help meet the state's 60 by 30 initiative. Daily functions include hosting 1:1 meetings with students to address barriers, create success plans, connect to resources, and create resources to help students better navigate their experience. Other duties include data collection and tracking, workshops, assistance with various needs such as registration, FAFSA completion, campus acclimation, etc, and attendance at multiple conferences/ professional development opportunities and meetings. Created transition binder to accommodate and educate new coach of best practices prior to my departure.
