Since I was young I have been fascinated with the ever growing world of technology. I spent countless hours talking to friends about it and engulfing myself in it through video games and using computers. I grew up in a small town called Ellendale, North Dakota. Because of this my options of having classes that were related to what I was interested in were very limited. The most helpful classes I was able to take included different typing and excel courses.Now while they are definitely helpful it still required me to pursue my interest on my own which I think has only helped me grow to love it even more. I began my own research into the programming world in high school and knew it was something I would love to do for my career. NDSU is where I am currently attending and where I will be finishing my college career in May 2021. My journey started knowing very little coming to NDSU, just what I have learned on my own. But after four years of classes, projects, and developing relationships I feel that the progress I made is astounding and I know that my past self would be proud of where we got today.During my college career I was able to get an internship with an amazing company called Certifi Inc. So far my experience with them has been nothing short of amazing. I also just acquired a full time position with them, moving on from an intern to a full time Junior Java Developer, that I am very excited about. Looking ahead as I finish my last class of my college career, I feel incredibly blessed and look forward to all of the relationships, improvements and unknowns I will have to overcome that will make me a better programmer as well as person in my life.
