Hello, I am Hunter Zentner a Senior at West Virginia University. I am graduating in December of 2024 with my degree in Industrial engineering and a minor in Law. I grew up outside of Youngstown, Ohio in a small town called Columbiana and attended Columbiana High School. In high school, I had jobs as an assistant manager at the local pool, retail stocker at a greenhouse, and customer service at Target. At school, I currently work for West Virginia Arts and Entertainment as a guest service intern and front desk associate. I originally went to West Virginia University for Petroleum Engineering but quickly shifted over to Industrial as held more opportunities and aligned more with what I wanted to do in the future. I hold a 3.55 GPA and have 2 summer internships of experience. In the summer of 2023, I interned with Crane Resistoflex out of Marion, North Carolina, and was a part of their New Product development team. I was tasked with finding a new way to rotationally line the piping using a flangless technique and was able to work hand and hand with not only the engineering team but with the operators to find the current state and where it could be improved to help them. I was able to gain serious knowledge in Solidworks from multiple projects that summer. In the summer of 2024, I interned with Keeley Construction out of their Canton, Ohio office. I worked in the office as an estimator for the first 5 weeks going through electrical drawings to find measurements, creating material requestions, and takeoffs for the supervisors working out in the field. Then for the second 5 weeks, I was able to get hands-on experience as a field engineer down in Jacksonville, Florida at one of their sites. All these experiences have had a great impact on my growth as an engineer and highlighted the importance of the classroom in the field.
