Associate Corporate Counsel at the CrossCountry Mortgage headquarters in Brecksville, Ohio. I was responsible for a full range of legal issues spanning CrossCountry's nationwide presence, including but not limited to: ensuring that all products and services are fully compliant with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; responding to regulator inquiries; resolving consumer disputes; drafting and reviewing business contracts; and handling internal employment issues.

I began my legal career as an Associate Attorney for Dinn, Hochman & Potter, LLC, where I focused on business litigation, covering a variety of subject matters, from representing the nation's largest debt collectors, lenders and loan servicers, to handling contract disputes in arbitration, to reviewing international contract disputes, to medical negligence actions. I represented clients in all courts throughout the State of Ohio in commercial, real estate, debt collection and bankruptcy areas, as well as plaintiffs in personal injury cases and Internet defamation cases. At Dinn Hochman, I served as local counsel for Morris, Laing, Evans, Brock & Kennedy, Chtd. before I helped launch the Morris Laing Cleveland office.As an Associate Attorney in the Financial Services Litigation Practice Area, I worked primarily on state and federal business litigation in all courts in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. I also assisted in the successful launch of the Morris Laing Cleveland satellite office.

During my last semester of law school, I had the opportunity to extern at the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office in the Major Trials Unit. I was involved with murder and rape cases from the beginning through sentencing. I wrote briefs in opposition to motions to suppress evidence, reviewed jail phone call recordings, reviewed detective interviews, and aided with trial preparation, including reviewing transcripts and rehearsing opening and closing statements with first-chair prosecutors. I also drafted appellate briefs on behalf of the State of Ohio for the 8th District Court of Appeals. This experience further cemented my career goal to be an attorney, and in particular, a litigator.

I split my second summer of law school continuing my internship with Javitch, Block & Rathbone, LLC and Rotatori Bender Co., LPA. I was hired to complete an extensive contract review, but when I finished four weeks in advance, Rotatori asked that I stay to help with the preparation of white collar criminal defense cases and tax defense cases.

After my first summer of law school, I interned at Javitch, Block & Rathbone, LLC, where I focused on insurance subrogation and debt collection litigation. I wrote motions for default and summary judgment, briefs in opposition to motions to vacate, and appellee briefs regarding manifest weight of evidence. I also created and approved client affidavits for summary judgment motions. I researched legal issues regarding insurance subrogation, debt collection, statutes of limitations and statutes of repose for all fifty states, and I created discovery questions and responded to opposing counsel discovery requests.

During the summer between undergraduate graduation and law school, I interned in the worthless checks division of the State Attorney's Office. I was responsible for recovering money from worthless checks. In two months, I processed over 700 files and contributed to the recovery of more than $300,000. I shadowed lawyers, met with judges, and experienced Florida's death row firsthand.

I was responsible for creating a brochure for part of the Haw River Trail using GIS software.

I researched land sites in the seven-county Piedmont area, and used GIS data to analyze certain situations in land development and planning.
