Coordinating all communication channels for the AAPA Student Academy Board of Directors (SBOD) as creative director and administrator to ensure a consistent message from the Student Academy, along with conducting business with the SBOD, representing the voices of over 18,000 PA students. As Director my duties include:• Oversee and lead student engagement in AAPA’s social media strategy• Prepare reports as requested for the Student Academy leadership

Representing the student voice as an elected representative to The House of Delegates (HOD), which has sole authority on behalf of AAPA to enact policies establishing the collective values, philosophies, and principles of the PA profession. As one of the largest delegations to the annual meeting of the HOD, AAPA’s policy making body, we were tasked with remaining informed on issues currently debated during the HOD, relaying information from the HOD to our student societies, and spearheading our own policies to bring to the national Conference.

Supervising and facilitating pre-PA students during a free 6-week summer enrichment residential program for first and second year college students, developed from a partnership between the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Optometry, and School of Health Professions. The goal of the program was to increase diversity in health professions by recruiting and preparing underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students for successful educational experiences and careers in health care.
