I was one of thirty members that served on the 2020-2021 Eugene, Oregon Review Panel on Middle Housing. This panel was a partnership between the City of Eugene and Healthy Democracy, a Portland-based nonpartisan and nonprofit organization. I was appointed through a random lottery selection, a first of its kind in Oregon. My fellow panelists and I advised the City of Eugene on questions related to its Middle Housing Code Changes Project. This work was possible thanks to the adoption of Oregon House Bill 2001 in June 2019. The bill's intention is to provide more housing opportunities.
