I am a graduate of the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. While studying chemistry in school I have developed an interest in analytical chemistry and organic chemistry. I wished to pursue these interests further and worked to develop my skills in these fields. I gained extensive knowledge in analytics and the methods used, for example, Titration, UV-VIS Spectrometry, and NMR Spectroscopy. During my time in these classes, I worked closely with my peers and developed excellent teamwork and social skills.In my current position, as a QC Lab Technician for Steuben Foods, I am responsible for performing all tests, analysis, and evaluations in all primary plant production areas and effectively communicating results with management and plant production personnel. I perform quantitative and qualitative tests on raw materials and finished products to determine the composition and microbiological condition. I have gained extensive knowledge and practice in basic lab skills such as pH testing, pipetting, allergen testing by LFD, and maintaining a safe working environment. While working I have developed skills in the microbiological field such as practicing Micro Pipetting, Aseptic Procedures, and maintaining Sterility in a work environment. I have gained knowledge in Media and Bacterial Growth by working with different types of media such as Standard Methods Agar, Violet Red Bile Agar, and Potato Dextrose Agar. I have exceeded proficiency testing that is FDA regulated and has exceeded Grade Level expectations. I have been able to use my analytical skills to prevent and minimize company losses by ensuring raw materials and finished products match specifications by State and Company regulations. I am constantly pushing myself to take on more responsibility in the lab and be open to learning more. From this, I have begun researching more environmental testing such as testing for Listeria and Salmonella. I wish to pursue further knowledge in these subjects and looking for where I could learn more.Outside of the professional life, I have personal interests such as fitness and music production. These interests have helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle and allow me to express creativity.
