I am a current Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering student at ERAU working on my Bachelors and Masters degrees. At the end of my freshman year, I accepted a Scholarship from the Department of Defense called the DoD SMART Scholarship, which fully-funded my college tuition and guaranteed my internships and a job with the Missile Defense Agency upon graduation. A year later, I became a SMART Scholar Ambassador for the program.In college, I have had many good leadership opportunities in my Honors College, working as a Campus Academic Mentor for the College of Engineering, and serving as the Student Body (SGA) Treasurer. But my most impactful experience was serving as the Student Body (SGA) President, which taught me tremendous leadership and teamwork experience. In this, I had to represent the needs of the entire student body to every level of administration, including the University President and Board of Trustees.Outside of college, I have had other leadership opportunities to give back and support the communities. I have been able to serve as a Junior Counselor for multiple years at the Association of Washington Student Leaders Mt. Baker Leadership Camp. This gave me the opportunity to train other leaders on fundamental soft skills in leadership, as well as reminding myself about them. I also got the chance to join Leadership Greater Huntsville's second SPARK Leadership Class to learn more about and give back to the Huntsville, AL community.I also have plenty of experience with hands-on blue collar experience such as working on vehicles and mechanical work, machine shop lab, welding, equipment operating, construction, and others that most engineers have not had.
