HUNTER LEE SOIK was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in the United States. He is the Founder and Executive Chairperson of the enso group, a Hong Kong-based Family Office focused on investing in frontier technology and breakthrough product experiences. hunter spent the past six years working with the Government of Dubai, building deep-tech ecosystems and shaping tech regulation and policy. hunter was most recently the Head of Innovation and Futures for the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority, a leading global Freezone that contributes 4.7% of Dubai's GDP. He led a hybrid team of 3 innovation specialists and 42 accredited level 4 innovation champions to develop the culture-shaping mechanisms, tools, and techniques to deliver the products, programs, and services to drive an intrapreneurial culture for the organization. hunter administered the Innovation Strategy and Policy, developed in partnership with Booz | Allen | Hamilton and DAFZA's leadership. He and his team developed the design thinking practice, internal incubator, advanced project management office, and innovation funnels that are the digital infrastructure for DAFZA's world-class innovation program. hunter sat on the steering committee for Dubai Commercity, an AED 3.2 Billion joint venture between DAFZA and Wasl Asset Management group. The new City is built on 2.1 million square feet of land and holds three economic clusters; business, social, and logistics. Before DAFZA, hunter was the Head of Global Community at the Dubai Future Foundation, whose Chairman is Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Crown Prince of Dubai. While at the Dubai Future Foundation, hunter was the Head of Program for Dubai Future Accelerators. A Governmental initiative to solve civic challenges by inviting private sector companies; Startups, Small-Medium Businesses, and Multi-National Companies to work shoulder to shoulder with Government Regulators. hunter was the Head of Program for Dubai Future Talks, a soft power platform to promote Dubai Future Agenda and shape the global perception away from tall buildings, big malls, hypercars, and exotic animals for pets.     Hunter Lee Soik admits that, for the majority of his adult life, he didn’t get a lot of sleep. He was working long days in the fashion industry and sleeping only a handful of hours a night. And so on his first vacation in 12 years, all he could do was stay in bed. In the course of 22 days of epic sleeps, he was having exceptionally vivid dreams and instantly forgetting them. This launched an idea: to build an app to help people remember their dreams. Now, working with a team of sleep scientists, the resulting app SHADOW is so much more than that. It gently wakes users up so that they can remember their dreams (rather than ripping them out of sleep via an alarm clock). Shadow is also an enormous dream database, to allow people to locate themselves within our greater dreaming unconscious. “You can find out that you were one of 7,000 people who had a dream about a white horse last night,” says Soik. “You can form a community and find out what that means.” As Soik points out, 95% of dreams are forgotten within five minutes. Could Shadow change that?
